Directed by Chris Colombus, and adapted from a book by Anne Rice, this is a simplistic, but “nice” look at the early childhood of a young Jesus Christ, from Egypt back to Nazareth.

In no way is it a stand-out, must-see movie. Not great acting from Sean Bean. And where it could have been a great child-friendly visual aid for kids to learn about the young messiah, it’s a bit too dark with the sinister-looking Satan character around every corner tormenting the little boy.

It gets a mediocre 5/10
