Testament Of Youth

Alicia Vikander (Man from U.N.C.L.E. and Burnt) is a very young Vera Brittain in this film adaptation of her well-known memoir of the same name.

It has become the seminal account of World War I from a woman’s perspective, and it is a beautiful, devastating story of her experiences at Oxford and then as a nurse on the front lines.

Ultimately, she loses all the young men in her life, and the film really looks at the sense of duty, the futility and the wastefulness of life in a time of war. Vera Brittain went on to become of the most well-known feminists and pacifists of her time.

With a lovely support cast, it was touching and beautifully filmed and it gets a
