Sing Street

Set in Dublin in the mid-1980’s, this feel-good, coming-of-age film follows 15-year old Connor as he deals with his parents’ impending divorce and finds his way in a new Catholic school.

He meets a beautiful and enigmatic girl named Raphina, and offers her a part in his band’s music video… The problem is, he’s not in a band! So, he hastily sets about creating one, writing some great songs and finding the group’s style and influences. From Depeche Mode to Duran Duran and The Cure, the soundtrack is fantastic! I’m in love with their song, “Drive it like you stole it!” Look for it on iTunes.

Hugely enjoyable, beautifully written and well-directed, John Carney has given us another great musical! You’ll love it.
