This is a beautifully crafted story, told in Afrikaans, and masterfully directed by Darrell Roodt. It is the tale of Mignon “Mossie” van Wyk, a beautiful young girl with a unique perspective on the world, and her loving friendship with Adriaan, the boy next door.
This is Tanika Fourie’s first film role, and she was mesmerizing. Deanre Reiners was wonderful, and the two of them had phenomenal chemistry on-screen.
The entire cast gave such honest performances, and I was completely invested in the characters because it made me remember what it was like to be in matric, how first love felt, and all that teenage angst!
I suggest watching it with your tissues; these two had me sobbing!
