Eddie The Eagle

Taron Egerton, most recently seen in ‘Kingsman’ and ‘Legend’ is Michael “Eddie” Edwards, the British Olympic ski jumper who won the hearts of the crowd at the 1988 Winter Olympics in Calgary.

This was a young boy who had dreamed of being an Olympic athlete his entire life, and never doubted himself although he had absolutely NO athletic ability whatsoever.

But with the help of a charismatic, semi-alcoholic coach, Bronson Peary, played by Hugh Jackman – himself a disgraced American ski jumper who had been kicked off the US Olympic team – this eccentric Englishman, with about 3 months worth of training, broke the British ski jump record.

It is such a fun, feel-good movie and it is the Reel Queen’s pick of the week!
