Champion. Legend. Hero. Cheat.
The film is based on the book, “Seven Deadly Sins” by Irish sports journalist, David Walsh who, along with The Sunday Times, was sued by Armstrong for slander.
‘The Program’ refers to the biggest doping scandal ever to rock the sporting world.
The film was well-shot by Danny Cohen, and brilliantly cast. Ben Foster gives an excellent performance as the arrogant and narcissistic Lance Armstrong. Denis Menochet plays Johan Bruyneel – the manager of the U.S. Postal Service team, and Jesse Plemons is fantastic as Armstrong’s disgruntled teammate and ultimately his Judas, Floyd Landis.
Armstrong was eventually stripped of his 7 Tour de France titles, and by the end of this film, you will not feel the slightest bit sorry for him!
